Today we ventured into Chicago. Started the trip with a excellent lunch at one of Rick Bayless restaurants Frontera Grill. If you’ve never tried his particular style of “Mexican” cuisine I highly recommend you do so on your next trip to Chicago. We know good Mexican food, and let me tell you friends, this is it! Plus, it’s good to see a chef you know, tasting your food before it’s served to you, I’m just sayin’.
Then in true adventure fashion we got lost on the way to the Field Museum. Trust me, getting lost is the only way we have ever found anything in or near downtown Chicago. The Field Museum is totally geared to the lover of all things outside, such as myself. Fossils, dinosaurs, meteorites, birds, animals, Native American artifacts, plants, more animals, Tibet exhibit, maps, big globes… the list goes on and on – it’s all very cool! See some Pictures Here.
To top the day off we stopped at another Food Network recommendation, (Diners, Drive Ins and Dives – this time), at a small place called White Palace Grill, at the corner of Roosevelt and Canal. This has to be said, I had one of the best chicken fried steaks EVER from this joint, and that aint’ an easy thing to get this southern boy and lover of all things fried, to say. Guy Fieri – you did us right with this one!
Ena wanted me to add that – Ena Rules – Go Huskies!

Giggin' Frogs
Doblar the dog on his quest to catch a frog at his favorite frog giggin’ pond. This top secret giggin’ location is somewhere within the confines of West DuPage Woods forest preserve outside of Winfield, IL. Just before the frog pond this big guy found a big pile of poop that he just had to roll around in. Needless to say a bath followed shortly after we got home. Dogs Rule!
