Shannon..just be yourself man..managing too many twitter accounts can make your brain run wild..too much..My opinion is to have one account that is 100% you..you sound a lot like me..I have several sides to my story..but usually get fired up about what I am passionate about (Getting my outside on...via kayak, board of hiking)..but at the same time can talk business just as easy..keep it you and keep it real..on a side note If you see a red headed dude laying on the side of the road on Valentines day in downtown austin (marathon) just drag me into the ditch so no one steps on me..Best to you in 2010

Is this endeavor gonna cost us more money? If so, then I vote no. You can't get through a conversation as it is without looking at your twitter page -- enough -- no more! In fact, I wish you would reduce your usage!

I would think that posting everything that you want to makes you who you are and exposes the real and complete you to the world. People will read what they want and ignore the items that don't interstt them. Now I have to get outside and do something fun like shoveling snow. Remember that stuff? I am sure that the dogs do.

Exactly, I have no interest in the GIS stuff, I don't even know what it is, but it's easy to filter out and just pay attention to the flyfishing content (and funny day to day stuff). That said, I use two accounts (@anglerwannabe and @deburris) so that people in the social media and startup biz don't have to see my tweets about nymphs and fly rods.

Great points Shannon! I could see where finding the time and content could be a daunting task. Yours and other responses I received on Twitter have confirmed what I wanted to hear. 1.) that no - the extra unrelated content that is outside of ones main area of interest is not that annoying. 2.) as I suspected, that content is easily looked over on Twitter (its only 140 characters) 3.) like I said that you said be who you are and the followers will come.

Thanks for the reply.

I started out with a similar dilemma and, really, don't have a solution for it. I do have other Twitter accounts but managing more than one (even with all the various excellent tools that are available) is daunting. I'm always me, but "me" at any given moment can be space news/space geekery or outdoor recreation or local news or road/mountain biking stuff. If folks want to follow, all the better. If there's too much "noise" in their view, that's fair enough as well. I do try to keep my "unrelated" chatter off of my @wildtexas account since that account supports my Texas travel & outdoor recreation website (wildtexas.com). But even then, a little space stuff or geek stuff may slip in from time to time.

Do whatever works best for you, and yes, the followers will come. :)

What a beautiful memorial. It is bittersweet to see the pictures, but what a beautiful dog. Had it not been for the the love of Huskies that we all share, we never would have met and formed a friendship. For that I thank Gus (afterall I think that is what made Sugar venture your way)I will always treasure the many spots he marked in our yard as we tried and tried to get him and Sugar together. Not to mention all the times I had to make sure Miss Kitty didn't wander out when he was visiting! :) Give Doblar hugs and kisses. We love you all and miss you much.<br />Heather, Eddie, and the 3-little e's

Shawn - thank you for making this tribute to our beloved Gus. You captured his impact on our lives, even after he has left this world. I think I will always define time in my life as the years before I knew the love of Gus (when I was selfish and unfocused), to the years Gus was physically in our lives (when I learned about unconditionally love and hope) to the years of spiritual Gus (his memory lives on in his son Doblar and our new family member Maddy). Now is the time in our lives for the years after Gus. I have mourned and have been bitter and angry. I guess I need to stop that now. If anything Gus taught us that we are to continue to live our lives in curiosity, to love unconditionally, to protect the ones we love, and to be true to our own self. So farewell my Gussie. I love you baby boy. Rest in peace.
